On Thursday the 18th of September Coomera Students celebrated NAIDOC day. This year we had a very busy schedule planned to ensure that students got to participate in a variety of different workshops throughout the day.
We had very special guests visit the school from the Taigai Torre Strait Islander Dance Troupe and a Contemporary Aboriginal Dancer who performed for the students.

After this the students were involved in different workshops such as boomerang throwing, coconut weaving, sit down dancing, mural painting, talking to students from Northern Peninsula Area College in a chat room, playing traditional Aboriginal games, and using rocks to mosaic around totem poles.
The students of Coomera State School had a very busy and educational day learning about the Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal Culture.
Congratulations to everyone for making the day a very memorable and enjoyble experience.
