Japanese Cultural Day

On Friday 24th October years 4,5,6 and 7 students participated in various Japanese cultural activities. Activities included sumo sock wrestling, sushi making, singing Japanese songs and participating in a karate class.

This year is The International Year of the Languages and at Coomera Japanese is the LOTE (languages other than English) taught here.

Students are now looking forward to our Japanese lunch at the end of the term where students can order Japanese O-Bento lunches from a Japanese restuarant.

2JL's Underwater World

In 2JL this term we are learning about the sea. We will study many sea creatures, the ocean environment and how to care for our beaches. The children will be looking forward to an excursion to Sea World later in the term. The children will be involved in many art activities relating to the sea and so far we have made sandcastle pictures and sea mobiles. In English the children will practise writing narratives and will produce their own picture story about a sea creature. So come and visit our classroom later in the term to see our Underwater World
