Budding Palaeontologists in Prep KU! |
|
In Prep KU we have been learning about dinosaurs. We know that they lived millions of years ago, and are now extinct. We have enjoyed learning some of the dinosaur names, as well as some very tricky words such as "palaeontologist", "carnivore" and "herbivore".
We have read lots of dinosaur stories, and have done lots of dinosaur art and craft activities. We have also sung dinosaur songs.
We had fun taking photos of some plastic dinosaurs and using them to illustrate our very own digital story.
This week on assembly, we entertained students, teachers and parents by showing some of our art, telling some dinosaur jokes and singing dinosaur songs.
Who knows, someone from Prep KU might be a palaeontologist when they grow up! |

This term 3MB and 3KV have been looking at all things 'weather'. This week, in particular, we have been looking at the different types of clouds and how they are formed. We discovered, through reading lots of books and researching, that clouds can be classified according to their size, shape, colour, location (high or low lying) and what weather they predict.
As part of our investigation, 3MB and 3KV also made and tested cloud finders. This involved going outside during the day to use our cloud finder to identify the types of clouds in the sky.

We then used this information to make a prediction about what the weather would be like for the next day. We are getting better!

We also made a collaged diagram to help us remember the names of some of the clouds.
