This term 2KF and 2JL are investigating the exciting world of insects.
We have learnt that insects have 3 body parts - head, thorax and
abdomen. We've also learnt that insects have 6 legs.

In week 5 we will be having a visit from a beekeeper and we look
forward to learning more about life in a hive, bee life cycles and the
roles of different bees. We'll also get to sample some fresh honey. YUM!

We are busily learning how to write information reports about
different insects and are enjoying caring for our own insect species
in our classrooms.

So if you see us around the school grounds using our magnifying
glasses you will know what we are doing..... trying to answer the
question "Is that an insect?"

During Term 3, Prep KP learnt about the different types of transport. The children decided that it would be a good idea to visit the Brisbane airport. We thought it would be fun to catch the airtrain.

So, on 10 September, we met at the Coomera train station and boarded the train. We enjoyed the view from the train as we journeyed north.

We went to both the International and domestic airports. We were able to see planes landing and taking off, the check-in desks and the baggage carousels. We had our bags checked by the x-ray machines and watched while planes were loaded with baggage, fuel and food.

We had a great day and we were all very tired when we got back to Coomera train station.
