Student Leadership

Student  leadership within our school is highly valued. Our leadership programs encourage initiative , citizenship and leadership. All leaders in their roles are expected to take on the responsibilities of their position, complete tasks in a timely manner and demonstrate exceptional behaviour and attitude at all times.

Position​

Role Description

School CaptainAs the most significant student leaders in the school, School Captains are expected to be ambassadors who embody the school values which are Achievement, Creativity, Respect, Responsibility, Diversity and Acceptance. They must be approachable, reliable and trustworthy with high expectations of themselves and others. The School Captains are to take an active role in all aspects of the school community and work with others to achieve the best possible outcomes. 
Cultural CaptainIn addition to being part of the School Captain group, the Cultural Captain has a key role in celebrating the wonderful cultural diversity existent in our school.
House CaptainThe role of a House Captain is to encourage all students to participate in House activities across the school year. They are to set a good example for all students across the school and promote the benefits of exercising.

STEAM Captains Music Captains

LOTE Captain

STEAM Captains, Music Captains and the LOTE Captain have key roles in any events or organisation related to these areas. They also support the key staff members in these areas including; Science and STEAM teachers, Instrumental Band and Strings teachers and the Japanese teacher.
Student Councillor

Student Councillors are the voice of the students within the school structure.

These students work very closely with a staff representative to coordinate and lead a range of special events throughout the year.

School Captains are automatic members of the Student Council.

Peer MentorsPeer Mentors work to ensure that all students at Coomera feel safe in the playground and classroom. They support students to play and resolve issues in appropriate ways at all time.



Student Council representatives

Student in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are elected by their teacher and peers to represent their class in our student council.

Their role is to represent our students, bring student concerns or initiatives to meeting, participate in decision making processes, communicate to classes, raise awareness and support for charity organisations and school-based initiatives.
